A new central heating plant room with hot water cylinders and copper pipework

Central heating, designed as one system

New systems, upgrades, radiators and smart controls for homes across the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwickshire - planned around how your home is actually used.

More than fitting radiators

A heating system works best when every part is sized and set up to work together - the heat source, pipework, radiators or underfloor heating, cylinder and controls. We look at the whole system, not just the part that's causing a problem, so you get a home that warms up evenly and costs less to run.

Signs it's time to upgrade

A quick self-check. If two or more of these sound familiar, it's worth a survey.

Cold spots

Some of my rooms never quite get warm, and a few radiators are cold at the bottom or the top.

Slow to warm up

My house takes forever to heat through, even with the heating on for hours.

Noisy pipes

I get banging, gurgling or whistling from my pipes and radiators whenever the heating comes on.

Rising bills

My energy bills keep climbing, even though I'm not using the heating any more than usual.

How we work

Survey

We visit, look at your current system and talk through how you use your home.

Quote

You get a clear, fixed-price quote setting out exactly what's included.

Install

Our team installs the system with care, protecting your home as we work.

Commission

We test, balance and set up the system and controls, and show you how it all works.

Aftercare

We're on hand for servicing and support long after the job is finished.

Lower running costs with modern controls

Modern controls let you heat the rooms you use, when you use them. Smart thermostats, weather compensation and zoning can all help your system run more efficiently, and a well-balanced system uses less energy to reach the same comfort.

If you're thinking about the future, we can design your system to be ready for renewables - for example with radiators and pipework sized for the lower flow temperatures an air source heat pump runs at.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a new central heating install take?

A like-for-like boiler swap is usually a single day. Converting to a combi takes longer, typically a day and a half to three days depending on what has to change. A full central heating install in a three bedroom house generally takes three to five working days. We tell you which days you will be without heating and hot water before we start.

How much disruption will there be?

Some floorboards may need lifting to run pipework, and the heating and hot water will be off for part of the install. We plan the work to keep disruption to a minimum, protect floors and furniture, and tidy up at the end of every day.

What warranties do you offer?

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 2 years on new installations and 12 months on repairs, from the date the work is completed, and the terms are set out in writing with your quote. New boilers, heat pumps and controls also carry the manufacturer's warranty, typically several years, and the length depends on the product you choose. We register those for you and explain what is needed to keep them valid, which for most manufacturers means an annual service.

Do I need a power flush?

A power flush clears sludge and debris that can build up in older systems and cause cold spots and noisy radiators. It's often recommended when fitting a new boiler. We'll tell you honestly whether your system needs one.

Can you design my system to work with a heat pump later?

Yes. We can size radiators and pipework for lower flow temperatures now, so switching to an air source heat pump later is simpler. Find out more on our renewables page.

How much does a new central heating system cost?

A full system for a three bedroom house, meaning boiler, radiators, pipework and controls, typically runs from around £5,000 to £8,000 depending on the number of radiators and how much of the existing pipework can be reused. Replacing the boiler alone costs considerably less: a like-for-like gas combi swap usually falls between £2,500 and £4,000, and a system boiler between £3,000 and £4,500. Converting from a regular or system boiler to a combi sits around £4,000 because of the additional pipework. We survey first and quote a fixed price, so the figure you get is the figure you pay.

Do you work on oil and LPG heating as well as gas?

Yes. A lot of properties across the Cotswolds sit off the mains gas network, and we install, service and repair oil and LPG systems alongside gas. We are Gas Safe registered under number 970356 for all gas work.

Do all my radiators need replacing when I replace the boiler?

Usually not. We check each radiator for leaks, cold spots and whether it is correctly sized for its room, and replace only the ones that are not up to the job. Upsizing is worth considering where a room has been extended or converted and the radiator was never sized for the new space, and where you might move to a heat pump later, since heat pumps run at lower temperatures and need more radiator surface to deliver the same heat. Doing it once is cheaper than doing it twice.

Are smart controls worth fitting?

For most homes, yes. The Energy Saving Trust puts the saving from using heating controls properly at around £100 a year, and turning your thermostat down by a single degree at a further £120 or so. Zoning and weather compensation go further by heating only the rooms you are using, to the temperature they need, and by running the boiler at lower return temperatures where it condenses more efficiently. We will tell you honestly if the saving in your property would not justify the cost.
