About these terms
These terms apply to your use of this website and set out the general basis on which we quote for and carry out work.
Cotswold Heating & Renewables Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16505358), with its registered office at 12 Willow Way, Meon Vale, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 8FT.
Any specific terms in your written quote or contract take priority over these general terms. If you have any questions, email cotswoldheatingrenewables@gmail.com, call 01789 700026, or write to us at 12 Willow Way, Meon Vale, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 8FT.
Using our website
You may use this website for your own personal, non-commercial use. We try to keep the information accurate and up to date, but it's for general guidance only and doesn't replace advice specific to your home. We don't guarantee the website will always be available or free from errors.
All content on this website, including text, photographs and logos, belongs to us or is used with permission. You must not copy or reuse it without our written consent.
Where we link to other websites, we're not responsible for their content.
Quotes
Quotes are based on the information available at the time, including any survey we carry out. A quote is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
If we find something during the work that couldn't reasonably have been identified beforehand - for example hidden damage or pipework that doesn't meet current regulations - we'll explain the issue and agree any extra cost with you before continuing.
Grants
Where your installation is eligible for a grant, such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, we'll apply on your behalf. Grants are awarded by the scheme administrator, not by us, so we can't guarantee an application will be approved. We'll confirm how the grant is applied to your price in your quote.
Payment
For repairs, servicing and smaller jobs, payment is due on completion of the work.
For installations, such as a new boiler, heat pump, heating system or bathroom, we ask for a deposit of 25% of the quoted price when you accept your quote. This secures your installation date and lets us order equipment and materials. The balance is due on completion. Larger projects that run over several weeks may be invoiced in stages instead, and any staged payments will be set out in your quote.
Invoices are payable within 7 days by bank transfer or card. Where a Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant applies, it is taken off the price first, so your deposit is based on the amount you pay.
Deposits for renewable installations are protected in line with the Renewable Energy Consumer Code.
Your right to cancel
If you agree a contract with us away from our business premises - for example in your home - or online or by phone, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If you ask us to start work within the cancellation period and then cancel, you may have to pay for work already carried out. To cancel, email cotswoldheatingrenewables@gmail.com, call 01789 700026, or write to us at 12 Willow Way, Meon Vale, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 8FT.
Our work and guarantees
We carry out work with reasonable care and skill, using suitable materials, and in line with relevant regulations.
We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months on repairs and 2 years on installations, from the date the work is completed. If a fault develops in the work we carried out during that time, we'll put it right free of charge.
Renewable installations carried out under MCS also come with a workmanship warranty in line with MCS and Renewable Energy Consumer Code requirements, backed by insurance so you're still covered if we cease trading.
New products, such as boilers, heat pumps and controls, come with the manufacturer's warranty, which is separate from our guarantee. Its length and conditions depend on the product, and we'll confirm them in your quote. Most manufacturers require the product to be registered and serviced every year to keep the warranty valid.
Our guarantee doesn't cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, accidents or freezing, faults in parts of the system we didn't work on, or work altered or repaired by someone else. To make a claim, email cotswoldheatingrenewables@gmail.com, call 01789 700026, or write to us at 12 Willow Way, Meon Vale, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 8FT.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Complaints
If you're not happy with any part of our work, please tell us as soon as possible so we can put it right. For renewable installations, the Renewable Energy Consumer Code also provides access to independent dispute resolution.
Liability
We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. We're not responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
